Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has agreed a one-year contract extension.

The deal will take the 31-year-old into a seventh season with the Ibrox club.

Jack made over 180 appearances for Rangers and won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup during his time at the club.

The Scottish midfielder joined from Aberdeen in 2017.

Jack told the Rangers website: “I’m obviously happy with it, it’s been on the back burner for a little while. I’m happy to get it done before the summer and I can go and do it in the season. focus on

“I have played for the club for several years, I love playing for the club and I am here.

“I’m settled and my family is settled so when I spoke to the manager initially and he said he wanted me to stay it was a no-brainer.”

Jack was one of a number of Rangers players out of contract this summer and is the first to agree an extension.

Manager Michael Bell has already confirmed that striker Alfredo Morelos and winger Ryan Kent will leave Ibrox with some “difficult decisions” to be made about others.

“He’s been there 80-85 per cent of the time since I’ve arrived so he’s shown his fitness and Ryan is an integral part of the team,” he said. Sky Sports News.

“We’re losing big players all over the pitch and we’ve got a couple who will come in at some point and then the window doesn’t close until September 1.

“It’s been a fantastic season for Rangers and hopefully we can finish it on a high.

“There are signs we can go forward with some of the players we’ve got now but we want to add more quality in the summer.”
