“The violations arose out of an investigation into the international games in 2022,” read the ICC statement.
Kashyap is accused of denying and delaying an Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) investigation, which is in violation of Article 2.4.6 and 2.4.7.
Article 2.4.6 of the Code Fails or refuses to cooperate with an ACU investigation into alleged corrupt conduct under the Code, including (without limitation) providing accurate and complete information or documents, without compelling justification. failure to ACU as part of such investigation.
Article 2.4.7 of the Code prohibits the obstruction or delay of an ACU investigation into alleged corrupt conduct under the Code, including the concealment, tampering or destruction of any documents or other information that may be relevant to that investigation and/or possible evidence. It can lead to the discovery of evidence of corrupt behavior under the law.
The ICC has given Kashyap 14 days from May 19 to respond to the charges.
